Brasilata is elected one of the 35 Best Companies of 2021 in People Management

A study carried out by the newspaper Valor Econômico and Mercer awarded companies that stood out in the way they treat their employees
Brasilata, one of the largest manufacturers of steel packaging in Brazil, is once again recognized for its actions, which are a benchmark in the market for human resources practices. It was elected one of the 35 Best Companies of 2021 in People Management through a survey carried out by Valor Econômico – the most influential business newspaper in the country – and Mercer, a consultancy specializing in careers, pensions, investments and health.

The “VALOR CARREIRA – The Best in People Management” award ceremony took place on the night of December 22 and is a recognition of organizations that stand out in offering an environment where the employee's experience is the guiding principle of prosperous and sustainable businesses. Brasilata won 3rd place in the Companies with 1,001 to 1,500 employees category, out of a total of 117 companies registered for the award.

“Being awarded in this survey, in addition to providing great visibility in terms of attracting talent and reinforcing Brasilata's employer brand, is proof that the actions taken and the care taken with our leaders are on the right path, bringing good results. results for our business”, celebrates Tiago Forte, CEO of Brasilata.

Since the 1950s, when the company was created, its actions have been focused on human capital, improving the quality of the organizational environment and internal processes, and guaranteeing employees better opportunities for growth and development. To give you an idea, in the last five years, more than BRL 5 million were allocated to the Training and Scholarship programs. Over 20 years, 300 employees had their higher education courses funded by up to 70%.

Today, 49% of managers at Brasilata started as interns or apprentices, thanks to the Internship Program, which allows employees to grow within the company and reach higher positions.

There is also the Projeto Simplificação, in which any employee, internally called an inventor, has a channel through which he can give ideas for innovation in processes, products, routines and be awarded for it. Finally, the Leader Training Program implemented in 2021 trained approximately 80 employees with leadership potential.

“For many years, Brasilata has valued participatory management and has constantly invested in training and development through its programs, reflecting on people management. Winning this important and highly sought after award, especially in a period of pandemic and intense work, is the realization that the dedicated efforts to carry out all our practices are being recognized and valued by our inventors”, highlights Fábio Ito, corporate HR coordinator.

Brasilata was also twice champion, in 2019, in the segment, and was amongst the 150 Best Companies to Work For by Guia Você S/A. It was also considered one of the best companies to start a career.

The methodology:

The study conducted by Mercer was guided by its global methodology of Prosperity and Engagement, which consists of applying a survey directed at employees with 43 statements to measure their perception of engagement and prosperity through eight dimensions: culture of integrity, organizational agility, leadership responsible, healthy work environment, fair reward, attractive careers, thriving individuals and engagement. Two essay questions were also applied to find out how the company helps employees prosper and what they believe can still be improved.

The human resources areas also applied questionnaires according to the calendar proposed by Mercer. It needed to meet minimum requirements for the company to be qualified to continue in the process and evaluated for the publication's ranking. Participation in the study was completely free.
