The company is the pioneer in the steel packaging sector to release to society a Sustainability Report with its economic, social and environmental performance

Brasilata has taken important steps in recent years and is experiencing a new moment. As part of this transformation process, the company has just released the first edition of its Sustainability Report (RAS), prepared in accordance with the global standard guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company also comes out ahead as the first in the steel packaging sector to disclose its performance in a Sustainability Report. "This material is like our cornerstone, covering company data for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021, and a current X-Ray of Brasilata, a company that has always innovated the steel packaging market," mentions Cinthia Squadrani, Brasilata's marketing manager when reinforcing that this first step shows the company's commitment to transparency and the advancement of the industry.

The report is divided into several topics: Waste and Hazardous Materials Management; Occupational Health and Safety; Water and Wastewater Management; Energy Management; Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change; Relationships with Stakeholders; Diversity and Inclusion; Ethics and Corporate Governance. It also shows all of Brasilata's policies and certifications; it has a message from the Managing Director of Brasilata, Tiago Heleno Forte about the new moment in the company's management; as well as the company's efforts, challenges and achievements during the years most affected by the pandemic. The report also includes a financial statement for 2021, which was a year of growth for Brasilata with increased profitability and gross revenues of R$ 1.2 billion.

In the same year, the company recorded an increase in the customer satisfaction index, which reached 98%. In the opinion of Nilson Almeida, Quality Manager at Brasilata, the report reinforces this commitment to quality and customer service while also strengthening the brand. "We realized that today the Sustainability Report can establish criteria for customers to decide whether to purchase the packaging. We have noticed a growing market desire to know more about Brasilata's actions and the report is a first report of our actions, where we hope to build new goals, signaling that we are together and aligned with all the guidelines.

"Sustainability is based on three pillars, which are environmental, economic, and social. The report covers the performance of each of these and we are able to map out all our actions and everything the company has done in these three areas, allowing us to know where we stand and where we need to work to improve sustainable development," explains Ana Carolina Luccarelli, Senior Sustainability Analyst at Brasilata, mentioning that the report is an act of corporate responsibility and cooperation. "When we talk about sustainability and ESG we understand that cooperation is the key word, and so we want to establish an open channel for the sector's initiatives as a whole, because by joining forces we can get further in sustainable development. May this report be a point of support for all suppliers of steel cans.
