Recycling accelerates the circular economy and transforms the world. With this motivation Brasilata supports the actions of Prolata and together we celebrate the relevance of the Association's work for the functioning of reverse logistics, as well as the positive numbers that have been achieved so far.

In the first quarter of 2022, Prolata recycled 16 thousand tons of steel cans, registering an increase of 79% in comparison to the same period of the previous year. The number of partner cooperatives has also increased. Currently, there are 65 cooperatives in 15 states, totaling 1,657 cooperative members, a volume that represents a 3% growth relative to last year. Besides this, there are 36 partner warehouses and the support of 14 steel can manufacturers, 29 paint manufacturers, 10 food manufacturers, 30 retail chains, and three steel mill groups, responsible for the revaluation and recycling of the material.

Initiatives are also being taken to encourage consumers to dispose of used cans correctly - with communication campaigns and help in setting up reception points in partnership with the retail chains. Today, there are 215 points distributed throughout the country, guaranteeing a municipal presence 27% higher than in 2021.

As a founding member of Prolata, Brasilata believed in the project from the start and pays tribute to the Association for this significant evolution over a decade of history.
