History

Since 1985, the company has been operating according to a management model based on Japanese participative management techniques, including emphasis on long term goals, continually striving to improve through team work to encourage creativity and innovation.

The company is recognized as one of the most innovative in Brazil, owed to the Simplification Project (Brasilata Suggestion System) implemented in 1987 and inspired by the Toyota Suggestion System.

Over the last 22 years, Brasilata has recorded hundreds of thousands of suggestions and ideas and a substantial number of them have been successfully implemented, generating new products and creating a positive impact on development, improved productive processes, enhanced administrative systems and on the general working conditions.

This management model is the basis of the company’s innovative processes in products and processes and has enabled it to win nearly all the awards extended by sector companies.

The most important award in the eyes of the Brasilata Board of Directors was the honor of being chosen one of the 100 best places to work in Brazil in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and for the last three years, we have been honored as a Great Place to Work (Época magazine) as well as FIA (Exame magazine).

In 2009 165.545 ideas were turned in, reflecting 181,9 ideas forwarded per inventor per year, a high number even by Japanese standards.

The Simplified Project in 2007 celebrated its 20th year at the São Paulo unit, and the date was commemorated with a big celebration held at the Chácara dos Sonhos in Jundiaí. Inventors from other units also took part in the event - a great day for commemoration.
