Commitment to excellence - Brasilata wins the Paulista Management Quality Excellence gold award

The initiative sponsored by the Instituto Paulista de Excelência da Gestão (IPEG) awarded 24 companies having the best management systems according to the criteria established by the Brazilian Quality Foundation (Fundação Nacional da Qualidade - FNQ)

Awards ceremony: in recognition of the Brasilata team dedication

The Paulista Management Quality Awards ceremony was held on October 9, 2009 at the Centro de Convenções Rebouças (SP), and 36 São Paulo organizations received the awards for their efforts providing the best management systems, which were analyzed according to the guidelines established by the Brazilian Quality Foundation.

Fifty one organizations competed for the award in 2009 and 38 passed in the eligibility process. At the end of stage 1, during which time the Management Reports were analyzed, 36 organizations were inspected and 24 received awards. The Paulista Management Quality Award (PPQG) Institute analyzes management according to following criteria: Leadership, Strategy and Plans, Customers, Company, Information and Knowledge, People, Processes and Results.

Private and mixed capital companies, government administrative entities and educational and learning institutions were applicants for the awards and evaluated by a volunteer and independent Panel of Judges.

In 2009, Brasilata won the Gold medal at Level II – 500 points along side the companies Arcelor Mittal (Piracicaba-SP) and Companhia de Bebidas Ipiranga.

“Winning the Paulista Management Quality Gold Award in the 500 point category validates the innovative management in place at Brasilata and as a company that encourages an innovative internal environment. Brasilata nurtures a work environment that promotes individual and group initiatives to seek out new solutions in corporate operations,” stated Antonio Carlos Teixeira Álvares, CEO of Brasilata and professor at the School of Business Administration at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
