The company, Industria Comércio e Estamparia Brasung Ltda., started up operations in 1955 in the city of São Paulo and at that time was engaged in the production of tin plate for cosmetics packagings.

In 1963, the company was acquired by the group, Heleno & Fonseca, and the president of the group and engineer Mr. Waldemar Accacio Heleno himself headed up the company.

Many relevant events took place during the following years:

In 1965, the company premises were moved, expanded and merged with Estampbrás Ltda., which then included a lithographic department and in 1967 began production of cans for paint and chemical products; the company name was also changed that year and for the first time the name, Brasilata , suggested by the president himself, came into being.

The company has not stopped growing since that time and in 1972, the company once again moved into new premises, kicking off an enormous expansion cycle and hurtling company into the future.

In 1975, this unit once again underwent a new expansion program and in 1976, it acquired the company Brasilina, a long-established paint and chemical product can manufacturer.

In 1979 the company expanded its manufacturing area once more, thus moving Brasilata into the position as one of the largest packaging producers in the chemical segment.

In 1981 Brasilata diversified operations in geographic terms and acquired the installations of the company located in the south of the country, Killing Reichert S/A Metalgráfica, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where it set up a factory in the city of Estrela and introduced conical and cylindrical pails to its product line.

In 1990 this unit also underwent an expansion program for the purpose of supplying export demand to the neighboring countries of Uruguay and Argentina.

In 1992 a third manufacturing unit was implemented in the city of Rio Verde – Goiás State. This unit is devoted to production of cans for the foodstuffs industry in pace with the trend to decentralize the industry into agricultural regions and producers and operates under the concept, BPF good manufacturing practices.

In 1999 the Estrela –RS was once again expanded from 6,900 to 16,100 square meters and the Crown Cork aerosol line was also acquired the same year and installed in this unit, thereby increasing the company’s line of products.

In 2005 it joined the IPA ( International Packing Association), and in 2006, began preparing for the future by expanding its manufacturing unit in São Paulo, from 16,400 to 22,000 square meters, where the parts export platform is located and from which its patented products are shipped throughout the world.
